Prof.ssa Marisa, is a former public school teacher with a long experience.
She lives with her daughter, Alessandra, in a very comfortable home in
a quiet area on the outskirts of Florence. She has a wide range of interests,
such as Latin history, the history of art, cinema, music and trekking.
An excellent cook and a expert of the history of Italian cooking.
She belongs to many Cultural Associations and is expert guide to the buildings
and monuments of Florence. The guest will also be able to meet her friends
who are involved in the cultural activities of the city. Alessandra has
a degree in Italian literature and attends a dance theatre.
The hosts live on the first floor. Access is by an interior flight of
steps. Large living-room and kitchen.
Bus stop nearby. Twenty minutes to city centre. Two cats in the garden.
Quiet area, residential and relaxing, with good views.

Saturday - Arrival in the afternoon. Welcome to house
and welcome dinner with the host family.
Sunday - Breakfast. Free day for the guest. Lunch and
evening meal in the family.
Monday - Breakfast. Walk around the Florentine hills
from Poggio Gherardo, the home to many English writers of the past, to
Settignano, the boyhood home of Michelangelo and down to Corbignano, following
the itinerary of Giovanni Boccaccio the author of the Decameron. Evening
meal at home.
Tuesday - Breakfast. Walk around the ancient quarter
of Santa Croce and through the historical centre of Florence. Lunch and
evening meal at home.
Wednesday - Breakfast. Walk up to the Etruscan town of
Fiesole and on to Montececeri with its stone quarries made famous by Michelangelo
and up again to the hilltop site where the "first human flight"
was attempted following the drawings of Leonardo da Vinci. Lunch and evening
meal at home..
Thursday - Breakfast. Full-day excursion to Pisa or to
Lucca. Light lunch. Evening meal at home.
Friday - Breakfast. Full-day Excursion to Vinci, the
town where Leonardo was born. Visit to the Leonardo museum. Light lunch.
Farewell evening meal.
Saturday - Breakfast. Morning departure.
Excursions, and family conversation in English or Italian.

and visit to a supermarket to identify and select the ingredients for

Cascine market along the banks of the river Arno which has an exciting
selection of goods of all types. Three hours of cooking activities. Lunch
and evening meal at home.
Wednesday - Breakfast. Free day for guest. Lunch and
evening meal at home.
Thursday - Breakfast. Visit to a characteristic indoor
market and walk around the centre of Florence. Three hours of cooking
activities. Lunch and evening meal at home.
Friday – Breakfast. Three hours of cooking. Lunch.
Excursion to the Etruscan town of Fiesole.

Marisa can meet students at Florence airport or railway station. Two-way
transfer fee by car Euro 65,oo. Or by taxi. Guests arriving by car have
parking facilities on the road in front of the house.
