LARGE PATRICIAN HOUSE IN THE COUNTRY NEAR FLORENCE

Accommodation for one to four guests
The host family is composed of Desi and her husband, Lorenzo, who is
a retired doctor. They live in the country in a large house which dates
back to the beginning of the XIX century and is part of the historical
and artistic heritage of the local Comune. It is surrounded by a garden
and by its own agricultural land. The guest rooms are on the ground floor
and first floor and have private baths. A dog lives outside, and a cat
or two may wander into the house. Desi and her husband are fond of bridge,
literature, art and gardening. Piano and period furniture.
No smokers accepted in the house. Trains take 30 minutes from Florence
to nearest local station. Desi can drive guests to the station. The hosts
offer an extremely pleasant and cultural setting in the Tuscan country.
Private parking on property grounds.
HOMESTAY WITH
ITALIAN COOKING LESSONS
Saturday - Arrival in the afternoon. Welcome visit to
house and welcome dinner with the host family.
Sunday - Breakfast. Free day for guests to visit Florence
or other places of interest. Lunch on your own. Evening meal in the family.
Monday - Breakfast. Three hours of cooking activities
in the kitchen with Desi. Setting the table and lunch. Afternoon free.
Evening meal at home.
Tuesday - Breakfast. Excursion in the morning with your host to a local
market or farm or to a wine cellar. Snack during the excursion or
at home. Three hours of cooking activities and evening meal.
Wednesday - Breakfast. Free day for guests to visit Florence
or other places of interest. Lunch on your own. Evening meal with the family.
Thursday - Breakfast. Cooking activities for three hours
and lunch. Afternoon free. Evening meal at home. Visit to Florence in the evening. Walk around town.
Friday - Breakfast. Visit to a fashion outlet or to a
nearby village of your choice. Snack during outing or at home. Cooking
activities for three hours and Farewell Evening Meal.
Saturday - Breakfast. Morning departure.
Cooking activities, excursions, and family conversation in English or
Italian.
The family will help the guests to plan their visits to Florence during free
time. Guests are welcome to use the lounge and garden for rest and conversation.

HOMESTAY with CULTURAL EXCURSIONS and WALKS
Walks will be conducted by Desi around the neighbouring Valdarno and
Chianti wine areas.
Each walk will lead to sites of historical and cultural interest.

through the historical centre, from the Duomo along the shopping streets,
Via Calzaiuoli and Via Tornabuoni, to Piazza della Signoria, past the
Straw Market to the Old Bridge, stopping for a light snack. Return home
in the afternoon. Evening meal at home.
Wednesday - Breakfast. Free day for guests. Lunch on
your own. Evening meal at home .
Thursday - Breakfast. Country walk with packed lunch.
Early afternoon return and evening visit to Florence. Evening meal at
home.
Friday - Breakfast. Full-day excursion to Siena with
walks through the historical and shopping centre. Snack and return home.
Farewell evening meal.
Saturday - Breakfast. Morning departure.
Excursions and family conversation in English or Italian.
Guests are welcome to use the lounge and garden for rest and conversation.
A visit to the nearby Fashion Outlets can be arranged.

Desi can meet students arriving by plane at Florence airport or railway
station. Two-way transfer fee by car Euro 65,oo for 1 or two people. Guests arriving by car
have private parking facilities within the house grounds.
